This year is a strange year indeed for Memorial Weekend. Typically, one of the busier travel days in the year, the travel industry has been slowed dramatically due to Covid-19. We know that many of the vacation companies globally have shut down at this moment but that doesn't change anything in regards to the meaning of this special holiday. Memorial Day should be a day that every American looks back at the history of this country and remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Between 1775 and 1991, we have had over 650,000 American Soldiers die in war. https://www.va.gov/opa/publications/factsheets/fs_americas_wars.pdf to go along with the over 82,000 American POW/MIA. https://www.govinfo.gov/features/national-powmia-recognition-day

Hold these facts and figures in mind as you start to light up your grill this holiday. Keep these numbers in your memories as you think about the freedoms that we are being provided because of the many men and women that have served and is serving to allow you the opportunities to choose what to cook on that grill. Remember, the men and women that are over seas away from their families risking their lives as you sit down with your family enjoying the time that you are allowed to have together. This is the true meaning of this wonderful holiday. It is about remembering those that have sacrificed, no matter if you agree with war or not, because these men and women chose to fight in times when they didn't have to make that choice. This holiday isn't a political statement, but a chance to get a better understanding that we have had many sacrifice for you.

For our family, we want to thank those that have made the choice to serve our country. We want you to know that we appreciate the sacrifices that you have or are making. We will keep those that passed in our thoughts as we continue to live our lives with the freedoms that we have been provided in our lives. Happy Memorial Day from the Foxx Family.
